Why meditate?
Meditation has been practised in different forms for thousands of years.
Ancient civilizations lived their life by appreciation and awareness of their gods and deities. Ancient Egyptians offered gifts as did the Greeks and Romans. An awareness of a higher force was central to their way of life.
Sages and soothe Sayers would meditate and obtain message and guidance from spiritual energies passing them on to the people of the tribe or society. Meditation was accepted as a normal and essential part of every day life.
Meditation is an ancient art that has been practised int Eastern civilisation snice man first came into being. Here in the west we are just beginning to catch up and realise how good it can be for us.
For us today meditation is about deep reflection. It’s about going into peace and quiet, clearing your mind of unnecessary and troubling thoughts and allowing yourself to drift into a wonderful state of relaxation. This is when you can gain clear insights into what you really want and who you really are
It’s also about returning to a state of appreciation and awareness of everyone and everything. Getting more in touch with our feelings, our thoughts, actions and ourselves and a basis for remembering our spiritual roots and why we are here on earth.
Meditation is also a great way to work on your ability to focus and concentrate, and shut out distractions.
Meditation is not difficult or unnatural. It is a gentle, nurturing process, which refreshes and releases tension from the mind and body. Your meditation journey is personal. There is no right or wrong way to do it.
My aim with these guided meditations is to empower you to find your own answers. After the meditation I will ask you to share with the group your experience of the guided meditation, tell us what messages you receive, what colours you saw, where you went, how you felt. If you are not sure of what the messages etc mean, someone might have an answer or suggestion for you, but just think, does that answer/suggestion feel right, is that what the message means to me personally?? Disagree if you want, we are all on a journey, we are individuals and or our observations, awareness and messages received or intuited are personal, only we can find the true meaning.
I want you to know that you hold the answers within, you are your own guru, clairvoyant, and you don’t need others to tell you what to do, say, or think. By meditating on a regular basis, getting in touch with your true feelings you will come to trust your own intuition.
